Abstract

Cyber aggression has become a very troubling social problem. This phenomenon is an interaction problem between individuals and groups in cyberspace. This study aims to examine the role of perceived threat mediated by prejudice against cyber-aggression by Indonesian youth. The method used in this study is a quantitative survey with structural equation modelling analysis, namely the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique, with 1118 teenagers as respondents from several cities in Indonesia, using techniques of web-based self-report personality scales. The results show that the theoretical model of adolescent cyber-aggression behavior is in accordance with empirical conditions in the field because it meets the goodness of fit model standard, meaning that the perception of threats mediated by prejudice is simultaneously proven to contribute to adolescent cyber-aggression behavior.

Abstract

Although group guidance is believed to be an effective and efficient service to facilitate the development of positive aspects and prevention of negative aspects of students, the frequency of its use for students is not optimal. This study aims to analyze student motivation to follow group guidance and differences in their motivation based on gender and ethnicity. The study used a comparative descriptive method. A total of 690 samples were involved in write-paper-and-pencil questionnaires, namely the students' motivation scale to attend group guidance, which was designed based on the Likert Scale model. We analyzed data using descriptive statistics and different test analysis using independent samples t-test and Bayesian method by applying JASP software. Analysis results showed that most students have the prime motivation to follow group guidance and there are significant differences in student motivation to follow group guidance based on gender, but in terms of ethnicity did not show any significant differences. School counselor can implement the findings of this study in determining group members in group guidance services.

A recent study reported that during the Covid-19 pandemic, there is an emergence of emotional and psychological disorder experienced by adolescents and students around the world that relates to the high use of the internet and social media. This study aimed to report the effectiveness of self-help strength-based counseling (SBC) to overcoming Nomophobia and Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) among students. By following the RCT’s procedure, this study involved a total of 418 high school students as participants. Through randomized sampling, two experimental groups and one control group were obtained. The first experimental group participated in SBC through a learning management system (LMS), the second experimental group participated in SBC through the paper-based module, and the waiting-list control group did not participate in any interventions. The results of this study show that the LMS-based self-help SBC method and the paper-based module SBC were effective interventions to overcome nomophobia and FoMO among students. Abstract

Adolescents face various challenges and changes in order to realize their developmental tasks. The challenges are coupled with the technological disruption that requires adolescents to face new problems that have never existed before as millennials. However, the problems experienced by adolescents are often not expressed because of various obstacles, such as reluctance to tell spontaneously to the adults around them, high social conformity, so it is difficult to find help. For this reason, an alternative assessment is needed, which serves as an effort to map the problems experienced by adolescents and their mental health conditions accurately and actually. This study aims to find the value of the construct validity that forms the ZIPC to be used more widely and measure the actual problem conditions of the assessment subject. Participants involved in this study were 978 high school adolescents from all over Indonesia. The analysis used in finding the construct validity of this instrument is Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The impact of changes and instrument conditions after analysis will be discussed.
